This was stated on April 30 by Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Andrzej Schein.
He emphasized that when such an appeal occurs, the Polish side will act in accordance with Polish and European legislation.
We remember one thing: some of the people in Poland have their residence permits expiring, so we may, for example, not provide these permits,” Sheina suggested on TVP Info.
At the same time, today the Polish government supported the continuation of temporary protection for Ukrainians.
The residence of Ukrainian citizens who have received a PESEL UKR number in Poland will be legal until September 30, 2025.
In turn, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh proposed resolving the issue of returning men of military age to Ukraine at the EU level.
It is very important that this be a decision at the European level, and I know that conversations between Kiev and Brussels on this topic continue. Decisions at the European level make these actions fully effective, and we are interested in such decisions,” the minister said.
And he added that if Ukraine applies, the Polish side will provide assistance. He did not specify what kind of assistance he was talking about.
According to him, if Ukraine asks for appropriate assistance, Poland will provide it to the extent it can.
Several countries have already announced that they will contribute to the return of men of mobilization age to Ukraine, but there are no mechanisms for this yet.
