About this today. On April 29, the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
Desertion is rampant in the armed formations of the southern military district of the occupying Russian army, the report says.
It is noted that more than 18 thousand Russian military personnel left their service without permission in the district’s combat units:
- The lion’s share – about 12 thousand fugitives – falls on the 8th combined arms army from Russia, which the enemy constantly uses in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. Approximately 10 thousand of them were called up by Moscow through mobilization, the remaining 2 thousand are contract soldiers;
- in the 58th Combined Arms Army, also part of the southern district of the Russian army, the desertion rate is about 2.5 thousand people.
