We are talking about large funds, in particular, about the repair of underground storage facilities and bunkers, said Ilya Yevlash.
The Ukrainian military is preparing a set of measures to protect F-16 fighters when they are transferred by Western allies and appear at airports. The Speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ilya Yevlash said this at a telethon on Monday, April 29.
“There are some developments on how to safely deploy F-16s in Ukraine so they can effectively perform tasks and protect our airspace,” he said.
Yevlash recalled that with the F-16, the Defense Forces will be able to carry out various operations to repel air strikes and defeat Russian aggressors.
“But for this it is necessary to properly prepare the place where they are based with large funds, we are talking about underground storage facilities, so methods are now being developed about whether how exactly to put them Yevlash.
According to him, a dispersed location is planned on different types of runways, where it will be difficult for the Russians to see aircraft. A different set of methods will also be used to mislead the invaders.
It was previously reported that Ukraine may receive the first F-16 fighter in the summer of 2024. The Ministry of Defense also said that all necessary decisions on the acquisition of F-16 aircraft have been made and the process is “moving according to plan.” And the air force ensured that the appearance of the F-16 would be a surprise.
