Against the backdrop of an increase in defense spending to 2.5% of GDP, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense is striving for the defense industry to increase production rates.
Storm Shadow missiles are assembled at the British plant MBDA UK. There, missiles are assembled from separate parts produced by France, Great Britain and Italy. The cost of one Storm Shadow missile is 2.2 million pounds.
Defense companies such as MBDA UK must be put on a “military footing” to help Britain face an increasingly dangerous world, UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps has said.
The Storm Shadow rocket collection takes place at MBDA UK, located near Stevenage. There, missiles are assembled from separate parts produced by France, Great Britain and Italy.
I came to the Storm Shadow production site to see the weapon that was so destructive in Ukrainian hands. A significant part of the funding we have set aside to increase our defense spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2030 is to ensure Britain has ammunition and stockpiles for future wars. I’ve come to make sure the British armed forces have all the weapons they need and we need a lot more stock because I’m afraid the world is becoming a lot more dangerous, Shapps said.
