Compulsory delivery of passports of the Russian Federation – the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Russian occupiers issued Russian passports to 14-year-old orphans located in territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets announced this on Friday, April 26, in Telegram.
It was noted that the facts of issuing passports to students of the Melitopol Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation were recorded during the monitoring of information sources in the occupied territories.
According to Lubinets, for passporting purposes, the children were taken to the migration department, located in another village.
“This time shows that every step of the Russian Federation is aimed at re-educating our children and trying to erase their identity,” Lubinets stressed.
The Ombudsman insisted that those involved in crimes against children will face justice.
Lubinets recalled that the forced delivery of Russian passports is a violation of the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian authorities managed to identify almost 20 thousand children kidnapped by Russia.
In March 2023, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova for the deportation of Ukrainian children.
