The State Emergency Service of the Nikolaev region reported an explosion of an unknown explosive device, which caused cars to catch fire. While extinguishing the fire, a second detonation occurred.
Five employees of the State Emergency Service were injured and first aid was provided to them on the spot. They were injured in the hospital.
On April 25, the State Bureau of Investigation said that they were establishing the circumstances of the explosions in Nikolaev, which killed two military personnel and injured five rescuers.
According to preliminary information, on April 24, 2024, in Nikolaev, in a parking lot during a careless transfer of ammunition by military personnel from one car to another, a detonation occurred. The explosion killed two soldiers and injured two more. Cars located near the epicenter of the explosion were also involved.
While extinguishing the fire, another explosion occurred due to which five rescuers who arrived on call were injured.
