Denmark and the Netherlands allocated the largest amount of 400 million euros for the purchase of drones for Ukraine.
The Latvian-led Drone Coalition has already raised nearly 500 million euros. They will spend on drones for Ukraine. About that reported Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds on social network X on Wednesday, April 24.
According to him, Denmark and the Netherlands announced the joint purchase of drones worth 400 million euros. This is the largest contribution to the Drone Coalition to date.
Also, 70 million euros were allocated from Canada for the purchase of drones for Ukraine. Lithuania allocated 3 million euros, and Latvia at least 10 million euros.
“And this is just the beginning negotiations with other countries of the unmanned Coalition are actively continuing,” the minister said.
We remind you that the Drone Coalition was officially launched as part of the work of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format at the end of 2023. The co-leaders of the Coalition are Great Britain and Latvia. Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden also joined the Coalition.
Last week it became known that Latvia is preparing to send the first batch of drones to Ukraine as part of the Drone Coalition.
