The former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will begin serving as ambassador to the UK in the coming weeks.
Former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny will start work as ambassador to the UK in the coming weeks. This was announced on Tuesday, April 23, by the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak on the Kyiv TV channel.
According to him, all the processes have been officially clarified; He added that the agreement (preliminary consent of the British side) and other protocol procedures are ready.
“I think this will be an issue for several weeks. Some logistical components have not been resolved,” said Podolyak.
He noted that he does not see “politicization” around the name Zaluzhny. According to him, we need to speak “calmly” about resignations and new appointments.
“We need to be more calm about any rotation of Ukrainian personnel Because the war is a significant crisis phenomenon and not everyone can withstand the load… And this is a normal process for any healthy society, ” said Podolyak.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky has agreed to Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK. The Foreign Ministry sent a corresponding request to the British side for the agreement.
Zaluzhny’s desire to work in a diplomatic direction, Zelensky said, noting that Ukraine’s alliance with Britain should only be strengthened.
