Russia has decided to cancel this year’s Immortal Regiment procession, traditionally held on May 9. RosSMI reported this in connection with Elena Tsunaeva, co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the Immortal Regiment of Russia movement.
According to him, the headquarters decided not to hold a march in person in 2024 “due to threats to public safety.”
The Immortal Regiment may have a new uniform by 2024. In particular, it is proposed to place images of veterans in public, personal, service and river transport, as well as on street media screens and educational institutions.
Last year, this procession was also canceled in some regions of Russia, particularly in Moscow and regions bordering Ukraine.
It was previously reported that in the temporarily occupied Crimea they refused to hold a victory parade and the Immortal Regiment.
