The Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed with the Chinese Ambassador the prospects for Chinese representation at the Peace Summit and further cooperation between the countries.
The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga met with the Ambassador of China to Ukraine Fan Xianrong. One of the things discussed was the participation of the PRC in the Peace Summit. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this on Monday, April 22.
“The parties discussed the issues of intensifying the Ukrainian-Chinese political dialogue, the prospects for China’s participation in the implementation of the Peace Formula of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the first, inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland,” the statement said .
Sibiga and the Chinese Ambassador agreed that it is important to adhere to the principles of the UN Charter, international law and mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Deputy Foreign Minister noted the growth of trade volume between China and Ukraine, which will reach $12.8 billion by 2023. The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.
