After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, then Colonel Klimenko began to lead military unit No. 09332, based in the temporarily occupied Energodar of the Zaporozhye region. Captured Russian officers admitted that they received criminal orders directly from Klimenko. This is stated in the material “Investigations.Info”.
In March 2022, Russian troops occupied the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, where Colonel Klimenko’s units were stationed. They took the workers hostage, declared a state of emergency at the nuclear power plant, and blackmailed the world with a nuclear accident.
In 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin promoted Klimenko to the rank of general in recognition of his military achievements.
Journalists learned that Klimenko’s ex-wife and his two minor children still live in the Dnepropetrovsk region. His relatives suffer every day from their own father’s shelling and support Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian citizens who remained in the Luhansk region of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk, destroyed by the Russians, are being offered up to 100 thousand rubles by the occupiers for written evidence of war crimes allegedly committed by Ukrainians.
