The head of state spoke about the importance of filling the aid package approved by the US Congress for our Ukraine.
It is important to fill the US aid package with the weapons that are lacking. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on the air of the Meet the Press program on the American NBC channel.
“We waited for half a year, but we didn’t just sit, we all fought together which helped us a lot, I believe that this support will really strengthen Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said the head of state.
Zelensky emphasized that thanks to this support, Ukraine will have a chance to win. But for this it is important to fill the package with exactly what the Ukrainian Armed Forces need. To repel the Russian invaders, the Ukrainians needed weapons that were in short supply.
“It’s artillery, and strategic long-range weapons, ATACMS – all this is important so that we don’t lose people at the front. Because we lose the fact that we don’t have suitable long-range weapons. this, as well as air defense, which is so important, of course, priority now,” the president said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is now waiting for a positive decision from the Senate and hopes that it will receive aid without delay.
“After the stabilization, we have every opportunity to get the initiative for this, the appropriate weapons should come,” concluded the president.
We remind you that on April 20, the House of Representatives of the American Congress passed a bill to provide almost $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support.
US Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner hopes that the Ukraine aid bill will reach Joe Biden for signature on April 23 or 24, which would trigger the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
