Police detained suspects in an attack on police officers in the Vinnytsia region. The head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhovsky, announced this on Facebook on Sunday, April 21.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of the operational services, the location of the defendants was established – they were hiding in the Odessa region. The attackers were detained with the support force of the KORD special unit,” he wrote.
According to Vygovsky, the detainees were military personnel. This is a father and son, 52 and 26 years old, natives of the Vinnytsia region. Now they face life sentences.
“The policeman, who died in the line of duty while defending his partner, who was attacked first, was able to open fire and wound the attackers,” added the head of the National Police.
