The document, in particular, will strengthen the long-term security of the United States, said Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin welcomed the House of Representatives’ adoption of a package of bills including aid to Ukraine. The official said this document would make “America safer.” The Pentagon website reported this.
“I welcome the passage of a critical addition to the National Security Act that will help the Department of Defense support Ukraine and Israel, strengthen security in the Indo-Pacific region, and stay strong with our allies and partners around the world. This law will make America safer and save lives,” the official stressed.
He said the legislation is an important investment in America’s future because it would shift nearly $50 billion to the US defense industrial base and create jobs in more than 30 states. In addition, the document will strengthen the long-term security of the United States.
“We have seen once again that the challenges of our time will only deepen without strong, sustained US leadership in advancing our core security interests… America’s long-term security is still at risk. We must not give up our friends, our rivals, or our enemies any “reasons to doubt America’s resolve,” Austin concluded.
Earlier it was reported that the US House of Representatives passed a bill to provide nearly $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support.
Congressmen also approved the seizure of Russian fixed assets. Ukraine can expect up to $8 billion.
Earlier, the media reported that the Pentagon was preparing weapons to be sent to Ukraine. Some equipment can reach the battlefield within days.
