The new Danish defense commander, General Michael Wiggers Gildgaard, visited Kyiv. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, announced this on April 20.
According to him, during their meeting they discussed the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in various areas and ways and opportunities for additional support from the Danish government. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov also attended the meeting.
Syrsky emphasized that cooperation with Denmark, one of the founding countries of NATO, remains an important support for Kyiv.
We remind you that Denmark is allocating another package of military aid to Ukraine worth more than $300 million.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky and Prime Minister of Denmark Matte Frederiksen signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of security and long-term support for Ukraine.
