Protesters have vowed not to stop protesting until the ruling Georgian Dream party withdraws the bill.
In Tbilisi on Friday, April 19, protests continued against the bill “On Transparency of Foreign Influence,” an analogue of the Russian law on “foreign agents,” Georgia Online reports.
Protesters were seen blocking the road along Rustaveli Avenue. They shouted: “No to the Russian regime,” “Long live the European Union,” “Long live Georgia.”
The protesters said they will not stop protesting until the ruling Georgian Dream party withdraws the bill.
The students participating in the action held a procession from the parliament building to the House of Justice. They say that the protest near the House of Justice is symbolic, because if the bill “on the transparency of foreign influence” is adopted, this department will become the body that will monitor the identity of agents of foreign influence.
Let’s remember that a few days ago the media reported that tear gas was used against protesters in Tbilisi.
