The G7 plans to impose sanctions against third countries that help Russia evade existing sanctions.

    .

The G7 will continue to oppose close cooperation with third countries and any attempts to circumvent sanctions and export restrictions. Member countries called on financial institutions to refrain from supporting the Russian defense industrial base. This is stated in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of the G7 members.

Sanctions will also be imposed against companies and individuals from third countries that help the aggressor country buy tools and other equipment that facilitate the production of Russian weapons.

And we will take appropriate steps that are consistent with our legal system to stop and deter such behavior,” the G7 noted.

In addition, the G7 promised to continue to put significant pressure on Russia’s income from the energy and other sectors.

Let us remind you that on February 23, the EU Council approved the 13th package of sanctions against Russia. Another 106 individuals and 88 legal entities were included in the lists. The sanctions are aimed at the military and defense industry and those involved in the supply of weapons from the DPRK. It is separately indicated that new sanctions will help limit the Russian military-industrial complex’s access to components for drones.

The European Union is currently working on the 14th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
