The vote on the US aid law for Ukraine is again in jeopardy. Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene made a number of changes to the latest Ukraine aid bill that echo Russian propaganda narratives.

Greene proposed a ban on aid funding for Ukraine “until Ukraine holds free and fair elections,” “until the persecution of Christians in Ukraine ends,” and “until Ukraine closes all biolabs.”
Republican Party member Marjorie Taylor Greene proposed a series of strange amendments to the bill to support Ukraine, writes European Pravda.
One of them requires that any member of the House of Representatives who voted for the bill to help Ukraine be required to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Greene’s other amendment is that Ukraine should “close all its biological laboratories” and provide all data on such “research.”
Other amendments require a report that would prove that Christian churches in Ukraine are able to operate without government interference, and that no funds can be used or spent until “until the government of Ukraine has held free and fair elections.”
The amendments are unlikely to gain support among Greene’s colleagues. Her anti-Ukrainian actions cause criticism among her party members. Fox News published a column with the headline “Marjorie Taylor Greene is an idiot. She’s trying to destroy the Republican Party.”
Background
Speaker Mike Johnson announced the text of bills to help Ukraine and requirements for the Biden administration. The speaker signaled that the documents could be put to a vote this week.
Johnson expects a vote on final passage of the bills to take place Saturday night.
US President Joe Biden supported the Ukraine aid bill.
“I strongly support this package of critical support for Israel and Ukraine, providing desperately needed humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, and enhancing security and stability in the Indian-Pacific region,” President Biden said in a statement released on the White House website.
