Based on the collected evidence, Russian representatives were found guilty of violating the territorial integrity and inability to violate Ukraine.
Three deputies of the Russian State Duma who voted for the recognition of the so-called “L/DPR” were sentenced to 15 years in prison without parole. This was reported by the SBU Department in the Ternopil region.
It was noted that on the basis of the collected evidence, the court found the Russian deputies guilty of encroaching on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
Convicted: Kazakov Viktor Alekseevich, 04/04/1949; Karlov Georgy Alexandrovich, born January 4, 1971; Karpov Anatoly Evgenievich, born on May 23, 1951.
On February 15, 2022, they supported a resolution to appeal to the President of the Russian Federation with a request to recognize the “independence” of the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. And on February 22, they voted for the ratification of the so-called “Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance” between the Russian Federation and the terrorist organization “L/DPR,” the SBU stressed. Subsequently, the Kremlin used these decisions as a formal pretext for launching a large-scale invasion of the territory of the Ukrainian state.
“Since the convicted are on the territory of the Russian Federation, the beginning of the term of serving the sentence is determined from the day of their actual detention,” the SBU said.
Earlier, a Ukrainian court sentenced 20 deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to 15 years in prison.
It was also reported that the SBU submitted to the court indictments against 96 deputies of the Russian State Duma.
