According to Ukrainian legislation, from April 1, pensions for working pensioners will be automatically recalculated for the length of service acquired in the last two years.

    .

The Pension Fund recalled that the size of the pension depends not only on the amount of wages, but also on the insurance period (i.e., the period during which a person pays the Unified Insurance Contribution – Unified Insurance Contribution). Since over time – when a person works – the pensioner’s insurance period increases, the size of the pension should also increase. Therefore, on April 1, pensions are transferred to working pensioners.

The size of the pension increase is determined for each pensioner individually, depending on the length of the insurance period and the salary (income) from which the pension is calculated.

There is no need to personally apply for recalculation anywhere: it happens automatically, according to the data containing the State Register of Insured Persons.

This year, pensions were recalculated taking into account increased length of service for 654 thousand working pensioners. This is about 6.2% of their total number (as of January 1, 2024, there were 10.51 million pensioners in Ukraine).

The Pension Fund draws attention to the fact that the payment of increased pensions will take place in June 2024 (taking into account the increase for April and May). This is due to the fact that recalculation is possible after the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance receives information on the payment of the unified social contribution for the 1st quarter. And such reports will be submitted until May.

We remind you that for the vast majority of pensioners – more than 10 million – pensions were indexed on March 1, for the third time during a full-scale war.

From March 1, 2024, the minimum pension in Ukraine increased from 2 thousand 93 UAH to 2 thousand 361 UAH; maximum – from 20 thousand 930 UAH to 23 thousand 610 UAH. The average pension is 5 thousand 791 UAH. (10.6% increase compared to March 2023).
