Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured that they have not yet received any invitations to the relevant event.
France will invite representatives of the ruling regime of the Russian Federation to commemorate on June 6 the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy, which opened the second front in World War II. This was reported by the French radio station Europe 1, citing anonymous sources.
Media say Russia will be represented in Normandy in early June if Moscow accepts the invitation from Paris. The invitation will allegedly be sent to the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in France.
It is not known how the ruling regime of the Russian Federation will participate in this event, because the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the owner of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin.
The Press Secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, in a comment to Russian propagandists, said that no official invitation from France was sent to Russia to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy.
“No, there have not been any invitations, we do not know what this message was based on, whether it is official information, some kind of rumors, or is it a “duck” (from the magazine “duck newspaper ” – unverified, fake or fabricated news – ed.),” assured the Russian official.
Remember that The USSR did not directly participate in the landing of the allies in the anti-Hitler coalition in Normandy on June 6, 1944.
As we wrote earlier, the Ministers of Defense of France Sebastien Lecornu and Russia Sergei Shoigu had a telephone conversation on Wednesday, April 3. After that, Moscow said that Paris allegedly “expressed its readiness to discuss possible peace negotiations” on the issue of the war in Ukraine. Official Paris disputed the statements of the Russian ruling regime and added that it had not shown any “readiness.”
