A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to enter Ukraine from its territory. The saboteurs were exposed by the border guards and opened fire. The enemy still tried to conduct a shooting battle and finally retreated, the GNSU statement said.
On April 3, the head of the Sumy OVA, Vladimir Artyukh, reported that a week later three Russian DRGs were stopped in the region.
In total, in 2023, 52 sabotage and reconnaissance groups from Russia were detained on the approaches to Ukraine.
According to him, the greatest damage is caused by guided missiles. Over three months, 412 airstrikes using KABs were recorded. There were no more repetitions of the use of aerial bombs weighing 1500 kg in the Sumy region.
Artyukh added that during the entire period of evacuation from the border area of the Sumy region, more than 11.5 thousand people were taken to safer places. More than 1,700 of them are children.
