Ukraine may lose the war against Russia if the US Congress does not pass a bill to help our country, President Vladimir Zelensky recently warned.
Ukrainian authorities are trying to get the United States Congress to vote on a bill to help Ukraine, but it’s hard to predict when that will happen. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this on Sunday, April 14, during a telethon.
So, the diplomat answered the question of whether the US Congress will vote on a national security bill that includes funds for Ukraine.
“Our situation is this: since the fall of last year we have heard a signal from the Republicans and the Democrats that everything will be voted recently is no decision so, I’m not saying anything anymore I’m making a wish,” Kuleba said.
He added that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, his office, the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – “everyone who can” – are working to ensure that aid to Ukraine is received.
“I think we can safely call this bill not long-suffering, but martyrdom,” the minister said.
We remind you that on February 13, the US Senate supported a package that provides more than $60 billion for Ukraine – mainly for military aid. But the Senate’s decision is not enough to allocate money – the bill must pass the House of Representatives, which is in no hurry to consider it due to pressure from former President Donald Trump.
House Speaker Mike Johnson met with Trump on Friday. As a result of the meeting, Trump said that he had no objection to approving aid to Ukraine, but only in the form of a loan.
