The heads of European Union countries will discuss Kyiv’s application for membership on June 23-24 in Brussels, writes Bloomberg.
All 27 member states of the European Union aim to officially give Ukraine the status of a candidate to join the bloc. This was reported on June 20 by Bloomberg, citing sources.
It was noted that at the meeting of EU ambassadors on Monday, no one objected to this decision, but words about the status of Kyiv have not yet been formally written.
According to Bloomberg, EU leaders will discuss Ukraine’s bid for membership on June 23-24 at a meeting in Brussels.
In addition, the bloc aims to grant candidate status in Moldova, as well as in Georgia, if it fulfills certain additional conditions.
Recall that last week the European Commission recommended that the European Council grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership in the subsequent implementation of the necessary measures.
