The agency said that the facilities, whose protection was provided within the limits of their authority and which were attacked by the Russian Federation, withstood the hits.
The Renewal Agency provides construction of protective structures for Ukrenergo electrical substations. However, the Agency is not involved in the construction of protective structures at Centerenergo facilities, specifically at the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development Valeria Ivanova in a comment to Ukrinform.
“We protect individual facilities of Ukrenergo – these are 22 substations. We did not build protection of Centrenergo facilities. The agency is not the holder of the balance of Centrenergo facilities. Previously, Centerenergo reported that they arranged the physical protection – with gabions and large bags, but it is unlikely to protect against a direct missile hit,” the official explained.
According to him, the objects, whose protection is provided within the power of the Reconstruction Agency and which were attacked by Russia, have withstood the hits.
“Work continues to protect 22 Ukrenergo substations from missile attacks. In the latest missile attacks, several of them were hit. Due to the sensitivity of the information, we cannot disclose which, but we have already noticed that the protection in these facilities worked “, added Ivanova.
As part of the first level of protection against debris in Ukraine, 103 facilities in 21 regions have already been protected, including generation facilities and distribution networks. The second level of protection against unmanned aerial vehicles in combat is provided at 22 substations in 14 regions.
We remind you that the fire at the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant occurred after the Russian attack. The mayor of Ukrainka, a city located near the station, called on residents to close their windows tightly to avoid inhaling harmful combustion products. He advised us to charge all devices and stock up on water.
Subsequently, it became known that the Russian aggressors completely destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region.
