Türkiye has apparently given a draft of a new “peace agreement” to Zelensky and Putin, media reports.
Turkey, through the mediation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is pushing for a freeze on the war in Ukraine. In particular, the Turkish side has developed and presented a new “peace agreement” to Kyiv and Moscow, reports the Russian opposition publication Novaya Gazeta.Europe, citing sources familiar with the document. .
Basis of “plan”
The media, citing an interlocutor, states that all three parties, that is, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine, currently have the text of the “agreement”.
The draft is based on documents from the first negotiations in Istanbul, and some of the wording of May 2022 is included in the new text. Journalists believe that Turkey’s “peace” initiative can be supported by a number of European politicians. Ankara also wants to offer a document to support individual countries in the Global South.

Prospects
Journalists of Novaya Gazeta themselves consider it unlikely to accept this “agreement”. This is at least the ninth such project. So, in the Chinese “peace plan” there are also points that do not respect the sovereignty of Ukraine, but provided for the end of unilateral sanctions.
The Ukrainian “peace formula”, developed in 2022, includes 10 points. Many of them do not match the Turkish plan. For example, in the “formula” there is an obligation to withdraw Russian troops and record the end of the war. Also, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in 2023 named two main conditions for peace:
1. return to Ukraine’s control over the entire state border and exclusive economic zone in the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait;
2. withdrawal of Russian troops, including the Black Sea Fleet, from the entire territory of Ukraine along the 1991 borders.
In support of the advancement of the Ukrainian plan, supported by several Western countries, a summit is scheduled to take place in Switzerland in June.
