The Ministry of Finance of Russia has introduced an increase in the minimum retail price for vodka and other alcoholic beverages from June 1. RosSMI reported this in connection with the draft relevant order.
Thus, the minimum retail price of vodka will increase to 299 rubles per 0.5 liter, brandy – up to 403 rubles, cognac – up to 556 rubles.
Currently, the lowest retail price for a bottle of vodka in Russia is 281 rubles per 0.5 liter, brandy – 375 rubles, cognac – 517 rubles.
In addition, it is proposed to set the minimum retail price for rum for the first time at 403 rubles per 0.5 liter.
The Ministry of Finance of Russia explains the need to increase alcohol prices through inflation, increasing excise tax rates on alcoholic beverages with a strength of more than 9 degrees (from 613 to 643 rubles per 1 liter of anhydrous ethyl alcohol) and increasing costs for production. of alcoholic products.
Russian officials also noted the impact of introduced foreign trade and financial restrictions, the increase in the cost of imported equipment, parts and consumables, as well as the depreciation of the ruble.
