As a result of the hits, a large-scale fire occurred in the turbine shop. Work to put out the fire continues in business.
Russian aggressors completely destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region. This was stated by the head of the supervisory board of PJSC Centrenergo Andrey Gota in a commentary for Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, April 11.
According to him, due to the hits there was a big fire in the turbine shop. Work to put out the fire continues in business.
“All the workers on shift during shelling are alive,” Gota said.
The agency recalls that on March 22, the Russians completely destroyed the Zmievskaya thermal power plant in the Kharkov region, and on July 25, 2022, Russian troops occupied the Uglegorsk thermal power plant in the Donetsk region. Therefore, Centerenergo has now lost 100% of its generation.
The fire at the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant was first reported after the Russian attack. The mayor of Ukrainka, a city located near the station, called on residents to close their windows tightly to avoid inhaling harmful combustion products. He advised us to charge all devices and stock up on water.
Remind us that tonight Russia attacked energy infrastructure facilities in four regions of Ukraine – in Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Lviv and Kyiv regions.
The Russians launched massive air strikes on Ukraine using various types of missiles and kamikaze drones – a total of 82 units. Air defense forces destroyed 57 aerial targets.
