37% voted for former President Donald Trump.
The poll has a 4% margin of error for registered voters, and many voters remain unsure seven months before the Nov. 5 election.
In the last poll in March, Biden’s advantage over Trump was 1%, writes Reuters/Ipsos.
About 22% of registered voters said they had no candidate selected, were leaning toward other options or would not vote at all.
While national polls provide important signals of Americans’ support for political candidates, only a few key states typically tip the scales in the U.S. college of voters, which ultimately decides who wins a presidential election.
In January, survey data showed a significant advantage of Trump over Biden: 40% versus 34%; in February, the current head of the White House narrowed the gap: 37% versus 34%.
