He is forbidden to represent the European Parliament as part of an interparliamentary delegation, in forums or any other event until the end of his mandate, as well as the elimination of the daily allowance for five days period.
The European Parliament imposed sanctions against Latvian MP Tatyana Zhdanok, who was accused of collaborating with the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. The President of the European Parliament, Robert Metsola, announced this at the beginning of the body’s plenary meeting on April 10, writes European Truth.
“The penalty includes the ban on representing the European Parliament as part of an interparliamentary delegation, in forums or any other event until the end of his mandate, as well as the cancellation of the daily allowance for five days time,” he added.
The head of the European Parliament noted that Zhdanok was informed in advance about the punishment, and since he did not appeal it within a certain period, it has already been implemented.
It was previously reported that a European deputy from Latvia had become an FSB agent.
