German concern Rheinmetall will transfer 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. The company’s press service reported this on Tuesday, April 9.
“The German government ordered Rheinmetall to supply Ukraine with 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles. The order was placed in March, its value is estimated at mid-double digit millions of euros. The delivery of the new batch is scheduled for 2024,” the statement said.
The ordered version of the 1A3 Marder is equipped with built-in laser rangefinders, which allow effective and accurate destruction of targets.
The company is said to have delivered the first 20 combat vehicles to Ukraine on behalf of the German government in March 2023. Since then, many more shipments have been delivered, each with a double-digit number.
