The incident occurred in Vyazma. The so-called Paninsky automobile bridge, connecting the city center with the industrial zone, fell. A truck and a car were driving across the bridge at the time of the collapse, Meduza writes.
Train traffic on the Moscow-Minsk line is blocked because the bridge passes over the railway.
Russian public pages write that the bridge fell, most likely due to old age.
The Panininsky Bridge, built in 1980, connects the center of Vyazma with the Moskovsky and Yubileiny microdistricts, as well as with the village of Vyazma-Bryanskaya.
In 2018, authorities announced that they would overhaul the bridge’s road surface. It was planned to spend about 9 million rubles on this.
