Moscow, after negotiations in Paris, said that France allegedly “expressed its readiness to discuss possible peace negotiations” on the issue of the war in Ukraine.
After discussions and negotiations with Russian officials, Russia would publish false statements; therefore, it is not in France’s interest to talk with representatives of official Moscow. French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet said this on Monday, April 8, in a joint interview with France24 and RFI.
Sejournet said that the continuation of the dialogue in Moscow is “possible, but first we need to establish trust, and perhaps first of all to see the development of events on the front in Ukraine.”
“This is not yet the case,” said the head of the French Foreign Ministry.
Let us recall that Moscow said that Paris, after telephone conversations between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his French counterpart Sebastien Lecornu, allegedly “expressed its readiness to -discuss possible peace negotiations” on the issue of the war in Ukraine.
As we wrote earlier, the Ministers of Defense of France Sebastien Lecornu and Russia Sergei Shoigu had a telephone conversation on Wednesday, April 3.
