The President heard reports from the military about the physical protection of energy facilities and the effectiveness of air defense.
President Vladimir Zelensky held a regular meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The defense of Kharkov and other issues were discussed, the head of state said on Telegram on Monday, April 8.
“The main issue is Kharkov, protecting the city from Russian attack and the opportunity to strengthen our air defense and electronic warfare in the Kharkov region,” he wrote.
Zelensky heard reports from the military about the physical protection of energy facilities and the effectiveness of shooting down drones and missiles.
“There will be separate tasks for our diplomats to work with partners for the sake of new air defense systems for Ukraine,” the president said.
He addressed the residents of Kharkov and the region and thanked them for their active work in restoring the infrastructure after the Russian strikes.
Zelensky also heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, on the situation in the main directions.
“We are holding our positions. The main thing now is effective logistics. The intelligence and special services are working on new measures to reduce Russia’s war potential,” the head of state concluded.
Earlier, the media reported that Vladimir Putin wants to capture Kharkov and therefore seems to be preparing offensive actions against the city. To this end, further mobilization may be announced in Russia.
In turn, Zelensky said that Kharkov is reliably protected in terms of defense lines, but air defense needs to be strengthened.
