Scammers on the Internet offer a “simplified” procedure for obtaining a passport for a citizen of Ukraine.
In Ukraine, deadlines for processing passport documents are clearly defined. However, scammers often try to deceive people and promise to produce documents faster. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The department recalled that the processing time for a passport of a citizen of Ukraine is from 10 to 20 working days, and for traveling abroad – from 3 to 20. However, scammers place ads for in the so-called mediation service and offers a “simplified” registration.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that such offers are illegal, and documents can only be obtained in person at:

territorial divisions of the State Migration Service;

centers for the provision of administrative services (TSNAP);

divisions of the Passport Service Document.
“We encourage you to use up-to-date and verified information, which is always available on the official website of the State Customs Service of Ukraine,” the department said.
We remind you that from April 1, the cost of obtaining a passport for traveling abroad has increased in Ukraine.
According to the NBU, in 2023, fraud on payment cards mostly occurs via the Internet – 83% of the total number of cases. Only 17% were through physical devices.
