The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate called the situation at the front difficult, but controllable. He also does not rule out an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces this year.
Ukraine expects the Russian Federation to intensify offensive actions in late spring and early summer, especially in Donbass. This was said by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, in an interview with the German television channel ARD, published on April 7.
According to him, the strategic direction for the enemy is Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Russian troops will move in the direction of Chasovoy Yar and Pokrovsk.
At the same time, Budanov believes that there will be no significant changes on the front before the start of the Russian offensive.
“The situation is quite complicated, but it is under control,” the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized.
In addition, he considered that it was possible for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to attack this year, but refused to discuss it.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russian offensive could be neutralized after calling in an additional 300 thousand people.
Budanov commented on the threat of a Russian attack on Kyiv
