NATO is strengthening its position in eastern Europe and becoming stronger in the Black Sea region, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Moldova has no reason to worry about military aggression from the Russian Federation. However, the hybrid threat exists. NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joan announced this on Thursday, April 4, NewsMaker reports.
He noted that Moldova is protected by Ukraine.
“Even in the more difficult times of this ongoing war, Ukraine, with our support, is able to continue to fight and win this war. So, as long as Ukraine fights, Moldova is safe,” said Mircea Joana .
The Deputy Secretary General noted that NATO is “strengthening its positions on the eastern side”, as Finland and Sweden have joined it. NATO is also becoming stronger in the Black Sea region, Romania, and Bulgaria.
“Therefore, even indirectly, Moldova has no reason to worry about military aggression on the part of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the hybrid aggression – disinformation, energy blackmail, and the use of internal action during of the very important pre-election period in Moldova will continue,” he added.
As we already wrote, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova declared an employee of the Russian Embassy persona non grata in connection with the organization of the “elections” of the President of Russia in Transnistria, despite the fact that the official Chisinau was against it.
