It is expected that it will cover up to 60 thousand students. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education of Poland Joanna Mucha, the Polish publication Onet reports.
According to Mucha, the corresponding bill is being prepared by the Ministry of Education of Poland, and it is already at its final stage.
She noted that on March 28, relevant intergovernmental consultations with Ukrainian colleagues were held in Warsaw.
The Ukrainian side is very interested in the introduction of the obligation for Ukrainian children to attend Polish schools. For their part, they offer cooperation and we will take advantage of this offer,” Mukha noted. “Most of this program is already ready, we are waiting for the law to be approved and then we will officially inform you about the details.
She also noted that after a conversation with the Ukrainian side, the Polish Ministry of Education became convinced that the number of children who are in the country and do not complete compulsory education in the Polish education system is lower than thought.
This number is closer to 50-60 thousand than the large numbers cited by public organizations. Ukrainians have their own statistics, I believe that they are quite accurate and reliable,” Mukha noted.
