The families of a 14-year-old girl with disabilities, a 12-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys have left for Ukrainian-controlled territory.
Four other children from Kherson were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory. The head of the Kherson Regional Police Department, Alexander Prokudin, announced this on Thursday, April 4.
“This is a 14-year-old girl with disabilities, a 12-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys. . The teenagers are registered in the military to eventually be drafted into the ranks of the army of occupation. This became a significant reason for their families to leave work and return to their native land,” Prokudin said in a statement.
It is reported that the return of these families to Ukrainian-controlled territory happened with the help of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The families are now in a safe place. Doctors and psychologists work with them.
“From the beginning of 2024, it will be possible to return 52 children from the temporarily occupied Kherson region. I thank everyone who continues to do everything possible to return every Ukrainian child home,” added the head of OVA .
It was previously reported that a Ukrainian teenager was released from the occupied part of Kherson. For two years, the minor boy had to live under occupation and attend a Russian school. What scared the young man the most was that after the so-called Youth Army, the Russians would force him to fight in his homeland.
