Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke in support of granting Ukraine’s candidate status to the European Union. His press service reported this on Monday, June 20.

It is indicated that Orban has now taken part in a video conference in preparation for this week’s EU summit, with the prime ministers of Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Luxembourg and Malta.

“Viktor Orban agreed with the EU’s proposal to give Ukraine and Moldova the status of EU candidate members. However, he added that Hungary, along with several other member states, believes that Georgia and Bosnia must gain membership at the same speed, ” – the message said.

Recall that on June 17, the European Commission approved Ukraine’s application and recommended that the country be granted the status of a candidate for EU membership, followed by certain necessary steps.
