The Russian authorities are making a decision to remove the status of a terrorist organization from the Taliban, and their delegation was invited to the Russia-Islamic World forum.

Russia plans to remove the status of the Taliban terrorist organization. The corresponding statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was quoted by the Russian media.

“This issue is being studied by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Ministry of Justice and other relevant Russian departments. The final decision will be made by the country’s top political leadership,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, the special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, said that the Taliban delegation was invited to participate in the Russia-Islamic World forum, which will be held in Kazan in May. According to him, the Russian Federation “on a regular basis” cooperates with the Taliban government, allegedly to counter terrorism.

Let’s remember that in 2022, the Taliban negotiated with the Russian Federation on the supply of grain and fuel.
