Separate gusts reached over 100 km/h in southern Poland. Many branches and trees were damaged by the storm.

Five people, including children, have died due to strong winds in southern Poland. The AP reported this on Monday, April 1.

Strong winds in the south of the country toppled trees, killing three adults and two children, rescuers said. Two women and a 6-year-old child died in the city of Rabka-Zdroj.

Additionally, a woman died when a tree fell on her car in the city of Zakopane. A child was killed when another tree fell in the same town.

The wind speed reached at least 100 km/h. Due to bad weather, the authorities closed the mountain routes in the Tatra National Park.

Let’s remember that in December 2023, in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, as a result of a storm, the symbol of the city – a giant aluminum flower – was damaged.

In January of this year, in the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district of the Odessa region, a wind generator was knocked over by a gust of wind.
