Due to damage caused by Russian missiles and drones to power plants on the left bank of the Dnieper, there is a local power shortage.
Since March 22, when the largest Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy system took place, and then a series of other attacks, Ukrenergo’s repair teams went ahead and replaced the equipment with high voltage substations, allowing the transmission of nearly 2,000 MW of power. The company announced this on Monday, April 1st.
It is indicated that this is what a city with a population of more than 3 million residents consumes every hour.
“Ukrenergo specialists continued to operate some equipment at facilities in the western region, thereby increasing the reliability of electricity supply to consumers,” the statement said.
At the same time, it was noted that due to the damage caused by Russian missiles and drones to power plants on the left bank of the Dnieper, there is a local power shortage.
“This morning, consumption restrictions were applied for all consumers in the Kharkov region and for industrial consumers in Krivoy Rog,” the company said.
At the same time, until this morning, 412 settlements were without power for various reasons. Due to the fighting, power was cut in Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkov and Kherson regions. And due to technical damage, there was a blackout in the regions of Kirovograd and Chernihiv.
It was previously known that there is a surplus of electricity in the energy system. Therefore, minor exports were continued.
