It seems that the conscripts will not be involved in the participation in the war against Ukraine, Russian media reported.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in the spring conscripting Russian citizens for military service. The document was published on the official legal information portal on Sunday, March 31.
According to new rules that came into effect in Russia on January 1, Russians aged 18 to 30 will be subject to conscription for military service (except those who turn 27 before the end of 2023, and those who turn 28. or 29 years of age and who is reserved).
“From April 1 to July 15, 2024, conscript for military service 150,000 citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 to 30 who are not in the reserves and are subject to conscription,” the order said.
It was also ordered to remove from military service soldiers, sailors, sergeants and foremen whose military service under conscription had expired.
Russian media say that military personnel called up for service during the spring campaign are not involved in the war against Ukraine.
Let us remember that the mobilization in Russia has not stopped. And after the so-called Putin elections, it may intensify and take place more openly, predicts the Main Intelligence Directorate.
