Marko Shevchenko, who has now been removed from his position, has served in the position since 2020. The name of his successor is still unknown.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Mark Shevchenko, who held the position since the beginning of 2020. The corresponding order was published on the official website of the head of state on Friday, March 29.
“To remove Mark Alexandrovich Shevchenko from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova,” the document says.
The name of Shevchenko’s successor is still unknown.
Marko Shevchenko took the position of Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova in February 2020.
His predecessor was Ivan Gnatyshin (since 2015). The order on his expulsion was signed by the previous president, Petro Poroshenko, in April 2019. For more than six months, Kyiv has not had an ambassador in Chisinau.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky removed Danilov from the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and appointed Alexander Litvinenko, who previously headed the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, to it.
