In France, a website allegedly seeking volunteers among the country’s citizens to participate in the war in Ukraine was blocked. The website contains an invitation to 200 thousand French people to take part in the war between Ukraine and Russia, reports AFP.
The site is a real page of the French Ministry of Defense, used for recruiting. He suggested that potential recruits contact “Unit Commander Paul” for information about joining.
“This site is a fake government site and has been reposted by malicious accounts as part of a disinformation campaign,” stated French Ministry of Defense on social network X.

According to AFP, the blocked site has “signs of Russian or pro-Russian efforts as part of a disinformation campaign that says the French army is preparing to send troops to Ukraine.”
Let’s recall that French military and cybersecurity experts previously said they had identified a Russian network spreading propaganda and disinformation about the war in Ukraine in Western Europe.
