The head of the Slavsky forestry enterprise (Lviv region), who is also a deputy of the village council, and his accomplices were exposed in a deal on the appropriation of a forest plot and property worth more than three million hryvnias. The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on its Telegram channel on Tuesday, March 26.

“Among them is the head of the Slavsky forestry enterprise, who is a representative of the village council in the Lviv region, his wife and three land surveying engineers. They were charged with forgery of official documents, their use and an unfinished attempt to appropriate another person’s property, made by the prior conspiracy of a group of people (Part 1, part 4 of article 358, part 3 of article 15, part 5 of article 191, part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message said.
The head of the forest business, as a representative and chairman of the land use commission of the village council, decided to allocate a forest plot with a forester’s house located on it with an area of more than 200 meters square. and attracted four accomplices.
“On behalf of her husband, she wrote an application to the village council to prepare a land management project for the allocation of 0.35 hectares of land for personal farming.
In February 2022, a decision was made to approve this land development and land transfer project. At the same time, the woman did not have time to register its ownership, because the forest official found out that the illegal activities were exposed by law enforcement agencies. To cover up the illegal actions, at the request of the deputy’s wife, the village council canceled its previous decisions,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
The total value of the land plot of the forest fund with the property is more than three million Hryvnia. The question of what steps to take against the suspect is currently being decided.
Earlier, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine exposed large timber transactions in the Sumy region.
In addition, in the Lviv region, the illegal cutting of trees worth 64 million hryvnias is being investigated.
