Arvydas Anusasukas will be replaced as Minister of National Defense by Laurynas Kasciunas.
Laurynas Kasciunas became the new Minister of National Defense of Lithuania. This was announced by the office of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on Monday, March 25.
Kasciunas is a former head of the Committee on National Security and Defense in the Seimas.
One of the most important tasks of the new minister was, in particular, to prepare Lithuania to receive a German brigade on its territory.
Nausėda also signed an order dismissing Minister of National Defense Arvydas Anusasukas, who had previously resigned.
As we wrote earlier, Lithuania provided 35 million euros for the purchase of artillery shells for Ukraine as part of the Czech initiative.
It was also reported that Lithuania will buy Renault D military trucks. Some of them will be transferred to Ukraine.
