The US Senate has approved a $1.2 trillion government spending bill. Such a move would prevent a temporary government shutdown (shutdown).
United States President Joe Biden signed a $1.2 trillion government funding bill that was approved by the Senate. He also called on the House of Representatives to unblock legislation to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. This was announced on Saturday, March 23, in an official statement from the White House.
The American leader noted that the document he signed continues the work of the government, invests in the American people, strengthens the economy and national security. At the same time, he stressed that the Congress is not over yet.
“This agreement is a compromise, which means neither side got everything they wanted,” Biden added.
“I want to make it clear that the work of Congress is not done. The House of Representatives must pass bipartisan legislation for additional funding for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan,” he added.
We remind you that the US Senate approved a bill to finance the government with $1.2 trillion and now it must be signed by the head of the White House, Joe Biden.
As we have already written, congresswoman Margery Taylor Greene, who belongs to the far right wing of the Republican Party, on Friday, March 22, filed a resolution to remove Speaker Mike Johnson.
