Ukrainian pilots will now move on to more advanced flight training conducted by the French Air Force.
Ten Ukrainian pilots completed basic flight training on the F-16 fighter jet. The UK government announced this on Friday, March 22.
It stated that these pilots received basic flight, ground and language training in the UK and “in the future will be the first line of defense, protecting the skies of Ukraine from Putin’s troops.”
The Ukrainians will now move on to more advanced flight training provided by the French Air Force before learning to fly the F-16 fighter jet independently.
“These efforts are an important contribution of the UK to the coalition to develop aviation capabilities, led by the US, Denmark and the Netherlands, helping to create an air force of modern fighters that will be the foundation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces , ” said the press service.
We remind you that Ukraine can receive the first F-16 fighter in the summer of 2024. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that all necessary decisions on the acquisition of F-16 aircraft have been made that, and the process is “moving according to plan.”
